​Temporary corrosion protection in this context does not mean ‘for a short time’. Many pieces of equipment and components need to be protected from the point of manufacture to the time when they are to be used. This period can be anything from 10 minutes to 10 years.

Temporary refers to the fact that the corrosion protection system is something that can be easily removed.
